PRODUCTS USED IN THIS PROJECT

CLIENT BACKGROUND

Fortescue Metals Group is a global leader in the iron ore industry, recognised for its culture, innovation and industry-leading development of world class infrastructure and mining assets in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
As a proud West Australian company, Fortescue values its relationship with key stakeholders by working together to positively manage and create opportunities for Aboriginal people, build up communities, protect the environment and strengthen the broader Australian economy.

CLIENT REQUIREMENT

As the first company in Western Australia to control a railway from outside the region of operation and the first company in the world to use CAT autonomous haulage technology on a commercial scale, embracing innovation is deeply ingrained in Fortescue’s approach to business.
So when they were looking to establish the joint venture ‘Iron Bridge’ pilot plant near Port Hedland, they wanted to partner with an innovative company to ensure they processed and mixed waste water sludge in the most efficient and safe manner possible.

SOLUTION PROVIDED

The conical Maxi Bin tanks and frames Polymaster supplied were specially engineered from extra-heavy duty materials to withstand the high SG of the slurry content. As always, Polymaster’s premium UV resistant material was used. Agitators and frame work were engineered so that the agitators can be easily serviced and removed from tanks if necessary. Custom pipework manifolds were designed, fabricated and attached to the bottom outlet of each tank to match up with particular pump requirements.
