Maryborough Treatment Plant

PRODUCTS USED IN THIS PROJECT

CLIENT BACKGROUND

The Maryborough Water Treatment Plant delivers approximately 908 million litres of water to 5,430 connections.

The Maryborough Plant services customers in Maryborough, Carisbrook, Talbot and surrounding districts. The Maryborough Water Quality Enhancement Project will provide improved water quality to the Maryborough region.

CLIENT REQUIREMENT

For the Maryborough Water Quality Enhancement Project, Veolia Water Technologies was looking for an easier, low cost alternative to the concrete bunding traditionally used for chemical storage and dosing.

Prerequisites included pre-packaged chemical tank and dosing systems to save on-site installation time and a segregation of the dosing and delivery systems. The solution was required to be engineered in accordance with their strict chemical dosing and storage requirements.

SOLUTION PROVIDED

Polymaster’s team designed and engineered a unique solution incorporating self-bunded tanks for the storage and dosing of Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid and Antiscalant to meet the needs of Veolia Water Technologies. The integrated dosing systems were built into the cabinets and connected to storage tanks in the factory to reduce on-site set-up, as were the in-loading facilities including power control boards for level monitoring and necessary alarms. Complete segregation between areas of responsibility was achieved by mounting in-loading and dosing system cabinets on opposite sides of the tanks.
