Sweep Troughs

Can these be used as a cattle trough?

Yes. Polymaster round troughs are purpose-built cattle trough solutions, designed specifically for livestock watering.

Manufactured in Australia from heavy-duty, UV-stabilised polyethylene, our troughs are made to handle tough rural conditions and constant livestock use. They are strong, impact-resistant, and suitable for long-term outdoor installation in paddocks and feed areas.

Available in a range of capacities up to 2000L, you can select the right cattle trough size to suit your herd and water requirements. Each model is designed for easy cleaning and dependable performance, ensuring your cattle have consistent access to clean water all year round.

Do I need to buy the broom separately?
Yes, the contoured Sweep Trough Broom (STB250 or STB450) is sold separately. It's shaped to match the trough base for efficient cleaning.
Are the float valves protected?
The hinged float cover shields the valve from stock damage — set it and forget it.
How do I stop the trough tipping over?
Fill the ballast-compatible base with water once it's in position. It's light enough to move yourself, then rock-solid once ballasted.
What’s the difference between the 250L and 450L?
The 250L (SWP250) suits smaller mobs or tighter spaces. The 450L (SWP450) handles higher-demand watering and is available with 25mm, 40mm, or 50mm float valves for faster refill.
How long does it take to clean a Sweep Trough?
About 5 minutes. The curved sweep-out base lets you push debris straight out the end without draining the trough. Traditional troughs can take 30+ minutes.
