The Quantum Series goes beyond storage and dispensing. It adds the Piusi MCBox fuel management system – a fully integrated solution for tracking diesel consumption across up to 120 users, with no ongoing software fees.
The system ships with 10 user keys and one management key, along with software for desktop reporting. Each user key authorises a transaction; the system records usage by user, preventing unauthorised dispensing and giving you a complete, auditable record of fuel consumption across your fleet or workforce.
The power control box includes an emergency stop and an automatic 10-minute timeout on continual use – protecting your pump and preventing unintended dispensing. The 10-metre retractable hose reel with auto-shutoff trigger nozzle adds reach and safety at the point of delivery.
For mining operations, transport fleets, and any site running multiple vehicles and operators, the Quantum removes the manual tracking overhead and gives you real accountability from day one.
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
Installing Your Self-Bunded Diesel Fuel Tank
Polymaster self-bunded diesel tanks are delivered as plug and play units – the pump, hose, fittings, and controls are all factory-installed. Installation primarily involves positioning, commissioning the pump, and completing the electrical connection. The following overview covers the key stages. Step 1 - Site Selection and Positioning
Select a firm, level surface capable of bearing the loaded weight of the tank. Observe the required separation distances from buildings, boundaries, and ignition sources as specified in AS1940. Ensure adequate clearance for the fill truck to access the 2-inch Camlock fill point.
Step 2 - Electrical Connection
The Piusi 240V pump requires a licensed electrician to complete the electrical connection. The power control box (Ranger and Quantum series) includes an emergency stop and auto-timeout. All wiring must be performed by a licensed electrician – do not attempt to connect electrical components yourself.
Step 3 - Pump Commissioning
Once power is connected, prime and commission the pump per the Piusi pump commissioning instructions supplied with the unit. Test flow rate and confirm the auto-shutoff nozzle operates correctly.
Step 4 - Fuel Management System Setup (Quantum Series only)

What size self-bunded diesel tank do I need?
For most farming operations and smaller construction sites, a 5,000L unit provides a practical balance between capacity and site footprint. A 10,000L unit suits larger operations with higher daily consumption or sites where delivery frequency needs to be minimised. As a rough guide: a harvester consuming 25-30 litres per hour running for 10 hours per day will use around 250-300 litres daily; a 10,000L tank provides approximately 33 days of supply at that rate. Do I need an electrician to install a self-bunded diesel tank?
Yes. The Piusi 240V pump requires a 240V power connection, and all electrical wiring must be completed by a licensed electrician. The power control box (Ranger and Quantum series) must also be wired by a licensed electrician. Attempting to complete electrical connections without a licence is a safety hazard and will void the warranty. Does a self-bunded tank need to be on a concrete pad?
No. Self-bunded tanks are designed for above-ground use on a firm, level surface – they do not require a concrete pad. The surface needs to be capable of bearing the loaded weight of the tank and level enough to ensure accurate level readings. Gravel, compacted earth, or concrete are all suitable. The key requirement is stability and separation from buildings, boundaries, and ignition sources as specified in AS1940.
How do I fill a Polymaster self-bunded diesel tank?
The tank is filled via the 2-inch Camlock with ball valve on the top of the unit. A fuel delivery truck connects to this fitting to fill the inner tank. Mechanical overfill protection is standard across all three series. Ensure your site access is clear for the fuel delivery vehicle and that the anti-splash/anti-static top-fill assembly (Essential Series) or equivalent is in place before filling.
How does the Quantum fuel management system work?
The Piusi MCBox system controls access to the pump via individual user keys. Each operator inserts their key to authorise a dispensing transaction; the system records the transaction against that key’s user ID. A management key and desktop software allow the site manager to review consumption data by user. The system ships with 10 user keys and one management key and supports up to 120 users in total. What maintenance does a self-bunded diesel tank need?
Polymaster recommends inspecting the unit every 6 months. Check the pump filters and replace as needed. Inspect the hose and nozzle for wear or damage. Are Polymaster self-bunded tanks suitable for AdBlue storage?
No. Diesel and AdBlue must never be stored in the same tank. Polymaster manufactures a separate self-bunded AdBlue range – the Dieselmaster AdBlue series – specifically engineered for AdBlue storage, with materials compatible with the chemical properties of AdBlue.
