Honda 5.5HP Single Impeller Pump
585 LPM at 60 metres of head, the highest flow in the range. Three outlets, so you can run a hose reel and a hand line at once. The pump that goes in most compact fire units.
Honda 6.5HP Twin Impeller Pump
100 metres of head, which is what you want when the water has to go uphill or a long way down a hose. Available with pull or electric start.
Hose Reel, 20mm x 36m
Thirty-six metres of hose on a reel, so you can work around a shed or a fence line without moving the vehicle. Fitted as standard on HR model units and available separately.

Flow or head, and why it matters
Two numbers decide which pump suits your job, and they pull in opposite directions.
Flow, measured in litres per minute, is how much water the pump moves. High flow suits knocking down a grass fire fast, or filling a trough or another tank.
Head, measured in metres, is how hard the pump pushes. High head suits getting water uphill, out to the far end of a long hose, or through a hose reel that eats pressure.
That’s why the 5.5HP single impeller moves 585 LPM at 60 metres of head, while the 6.5HP twin impeller moves less water at 373 LPM but pushes it to 100 metres. The twin impeller is not a bigger version of the single. It is a different tool.
For most farm ute packs
The 5.5HP single impeller. Highest flow in the range, three outlets, and enough head for anything within reach of a 36 metre reel on flat ground.
For hills, long hose runs or hose reels
The 6.5HP twin impeller. 100 metres of head covers a rise, a long line, or a reel that would starve a lower pressure pump.
For a small unit or a light vehicle
The 2.5HP Mini Blaze. One outlet, 133 LPM, and light enough to lift on and off without help.
Where petrol is not wanted
The 7HP Yanmar diesel with electric start. Same 100 metres of head as the twin impeller, more flow at 450 LPM, and it runs on the same fuel as the vehicle carrying it.

Which fire fighting pump should I choose?
It depends on whether you need flow or pressure. The 5.5HP single impeller gives the highest flow at 585 LPM, which suits knocking a fire down fast on flat ground. The 6.5HP twin impeller gives 100 metres of head, which suits hills, long hose runs and hose reels. Section above sets out the full comparison.
Why does the 5.5HP move more water than the 6.5HP?
Because they’re built for different jobs. A single impeller pump moves more volume at lower pressure. A twin impeller pump moves less volume but pushes it much harder. The 6.5HP is not a bigger 5.5HP, it’s a different tool.
What pump ends do you use?
Onga, which is Pentair, across the whole range. The engines vary: Loncin on the Mini Blaze, Honda on the 5.5HP and both 6.5HP models, and Yanmar on the 7HP diesel.
Can I get an electric start?
Yes, on the 6.5HP twin impeller and the 7HP diesel. The 2.5HP and 5.5HP are pull start.
How many outlets do the pumps have?
The Mini Blaze has one 25mm outlet. Every other pump in the range has three, two at 25mm and one at 40mm, so you can run a hose reel and a hand line at the same time.
How long is the hose on the hose reels?
Both reels carry 20mm hose at 36 metres. They differ in form rather than capacity, so which one suits depends on how it’s being mounted.
What does the dust suppression nozzle do?
It converts a fire fighting unit into a dust suppression setup, which is useful on unsealed roads, work sites and yards. The DSN20K is an option on skid mounted and trailer mounted units.
What is the bottom fill kit for?
It lets you fill the tank from the bottom rather than through the top lid, which is faster and means no climbing. It suits the 5.5HP compact fire units.
Can I add a pump to a tank I already have?
Yes. These pumps and accessories are supplied as part of complete units and as standalone items. Tell us the tank you’re running and we’ll confirm what suits.
