Sweep Water Troughs
Dust settles on the water, turns to sludge on the bottom, and cleaning the trough means draining it. Polymaster sweep troughs fix that. The curved sweep-out end lets you push debris straight out with a contoured broom, without emptying the trough or wasting the water in it.
Available in 250L and 450L, ballasted for stability and built from double-skin poly that won’t rust, dent or split. Suitable for sheep and cattle.

Clean it in about five minutes
The curved sweep-out base lets you push debris straight out the end with a contoured broom. No draining, no scrubbing, no wasted water, and no lifting a full trough.
Ballast keeps it put
Fill the base with water once the trough is positioned, and it stays where you put it, even when the drinking water runs low. Ballast also helps keep the drinking water cool. The SWP250 holds around 240L of ballast, the SWP450 around 300L.
Double-skin construction
A tough double-skin mould gives extra strength and stops the trough twisting or buckling in the heat. Poly won’t rust or corrode, so it can live outside permanently.
The float valve stays protected
A hinged float cover shields the valve from stock damage. Set it and forget it, and lift the cover when you need to check the float.

How long does it take to clean a sweep trough?
About five minutes. The curved sweep-out base lets you push debris straight out the end without draining the trough, so there’s no emptying, refilling or waiting.
Do I need the broom, and is it included?
The contoured Sweep Trough Broom is sold separately. It’s shaped to match the trough base, which is what makes the clean-out quick, so it’s worth having. STB250 suits the 250L trough, and STB450 suits the 450L.
What’s the difference between the 250L and the 450L?
The 250L (SWP250) suits smaller mobs or tighter spaces. The 450L (SWP450) handles higher demand watering and comes with 25mm, 40mm or 50mm float valve options for faster refill. Both use the same sweep-out design and the same ballast system.
How does the ballast work?
Once the trough is in position, you fill the base with water. That weight stops stock from pushing it around, and it keeps working even when the drinking water is low. It also helps keep the drinking water cool. The 250L holds around 240L of ballast and the 450L around 300L.
Can I move the trough once it’s installed?
Empty, it’s light enough to move yourself. Filled with ballast, it stays put. To relocate it, drain the ballast through the 50mm drain plug, move it, then refill.
Are sweep troughs suitable for sheep or cattle?
Both. The sweep-out design suits dusty areas where sludge builds up in the bottom of a standard trough, which is why they’re popular with sheep producers, but they handle cattle as well.
Can I move a Supa Trough between paddocks?
The 25mm valve is standard and suits most installations. Step up to 40mm or 50mm on the 450L if you’re on lower pressure or need the trough to refill faster after a mob drinks it down.
Can two troughs be linked together?
The 450L can be linked back to back to double capacity where you need more water at a single point.
