Built to Last and Easy to Service - The Master Tub Trough
The Master Tub Trough is Polymaster’s premium round trough design. Where most round troughs are a basic poly bowl with a ball float, the Master Tub is engineered around serviceability – the float valve is accessible from outside the trough, all pipework is enclosed within the trough surround, and the float cover releases in seconds without tools.

- Easy service 1-inch float valve on MT2, MT6, and MT12 – with quick-release float cover for fast access.
- Higher rating valves available on request for high-pressure rural water supply situations.
- On MT24 and MT45, optional 40mm or 50 mm high-flow valves are available.
- All Master Tub Troughs include a new 75mm bung for thorough cleaning and a drain cap positioned at the very base of the trough – so when you drain it, every drop empties out.
Available from 200 litres (MT2, suitable for small numbers of horses or sheep) up to 4,500 litres (MT45, suited to large cattle mobs and multiple watering points from a single trough).
PT ROUND WATER TROUGHS
Simple, Strong and Ready to Work - The PT Round Trough
The PT Round Water Trough range is Polymaster’s straightforward poly trough for general livestock watering. Fewer moving parts, lower price point, same Australian-made polyethylene construction.
The PT range suits applications where a reliable round watering point is needed without the float valve system – for example, gravity-fed setups, temporary paddock troughs, or situations where the trough is filled by hand or timer.
All four PT sizes (250L through to 2,000L) share the same core construction:
- Robust heavy-duty poly,
- UV stabilised
- 75mm bung for cleaning,
- A drain cap at the very base of the trough for full drainage.
For a permanent paddock installation with mains or pipeline water connection, consider the Master Tub Trough range with its built-in float valve system.
SIZING GUIDE
How to Choose the Right Round Trough Size
The right trough capacity depends on your livestock numbers, species, and how often the trough is restocked. As a general guide for cattle on a float valve system, a trough should hold enough water for the peak daily demand of the mob, with the float valve keeping it topped up continuously.
Smaller Herds and Mixed Livestock
The MT2 (200L) and PT12W (250L) are suited to smaller mobs of sheep or goats, a small number of horses, or as a secondary trough in a yard or race.
At 970mm diameter, the MT2 is compact enough to site in a smaller yard without restricting movement.
Medium Herds - 100 to 300 Head of Cattle
The MT6 (600L), MT12 (1,200L), PT10W (500L), and PT11W (1,000L) suit medium-scale cattle operations.
The MT12 at 1,765mm diameter allows multiple animals to drink simultaneously, which matters in a paddock trough situation where competition at the trough can reduce water intake across the mob.
Large Mobs and High-Demand Situations
The MT24 (2,400L), MT45 (4,500L), PT13W (2,000L), and MT45-40 (4,500L with 40mm high-flow valve) are suited to large cattle mobs, high-density feedlots, or locations with limited water pressure where a larger reservoir compensates for a slower fill rate.
The MT45-40 high-flow valve is specifically designed for situations where a standard 1-inch valve cannot fill the trough fast enough to meet peak demand.

All Polymaster round troughs include a 75mm bung for drainage and cleaning access, with a drain cap positioned at the very base of the trough body so all water empties out completely when you drain it. For thorough cleaning, drain via the base bung and use a standard pressure washer or brush. On Master Tub Troughs, the quick-release float cover provides access to the float valve and internal components without tools. Contact Polymaster when ordering to specify optional extras.
