Where do we deliver?
Agriculture and plumbing products
Zone 1, free delivery. Our distribution network covers Victoria, Southern New South Wales, South Australia, South East Queensland and North East New South Wales. We’ll deliver straight to your location, or to the store where you bought your product.
- Delivery is free for tanks exceeding 13,000L.
- For tanks under that, there’s a $165 inc GST charge to deliver to site.
- Most smaller items are delivered free to your local Polymaster distributor store.
Zone 2, delivery charges apply. Anywhere outside Zone 1. Get in touch and we’ll work out the options and costs for your location.
What Zone 1 actually covers
In New South Wales and South Australia, Zone 1 runs from Corryong on the Victorian border up to Canberra and Goulburn, across to Bathurst and Dubbo, then down and across to Mildura. From Broken Hill it crosses the South Australian border to Orroroo and Port Augusta, and everything below that line in South Australia is covered.
In South East Queensland and northern New South Wales, Zone 1 is roughly a 550km radius from Ipswich, bordered by Bundaberg, Theodore, Roma, St George, Narrabri, Tamworth and Port Macquarie.
Chemical tanks and engineered solutions
Freight on chemical tanks and engineered solutions is calculated per project. Every industrial tank is different, so talk to our industrial team about your delivery.

What to expect from a Polymaster delivery
You don't need to arrange help
Nobody is required to help the driver unload. Give us clear access and a marked spot, and our driver will unload as close to it as they safely can.
We'll call you before we arrive
Our logistics team contacts you around 7 days before delivery to confirm your address, run through access, and check whether you’ll be on site.
Fittings are already installed
Your overflow, strainer and outlets go on at the factory. That saves you money at installation, and no plastic swarf ends up inside the tank.
BEFORE YOUR TANK ARRIVES
Preparing your site for delivery
Our tanks are large, which makes the truck loads long and high. A bit of preparation before delivery day makes the whole thing quicker and safer.
1. Ensure access
Clearance required for the truck and trailer is 19 metres long, 5 metres high and 3.5 metres wide. Check for low branches and powerlines along the route in. Make sure the gate or entrance is wide enough, and that there’s turning room for a 19 metre truck and trailer, roughly the size of a normal roundabout. You’ll also need a flat, clear area of 5 metres by 5 metres to unload into.
2. Have the right lifting equipment
Larger tanks need specific equipment to unload safely. Depending on the size, type and fittings, that might be a forklift, a forklift with extensions, or a crane. Check the full list below to find your product, and make sure the gear is on site on the day.
3. Prepare your tank site
The site must be firm, level and flat. A well compacted sand base or another consolidated fill such as crushed dust works well. The fill needs to be free of rocks, stones and anything sharp. Make the base 75mm to 100mm deep and at least 600mm larger in diameter than the tank base, with a retaining wall around the outside to stop erosion.
4. Prepare your overflow pipe
Pipe the overflow well clear of the tank so it can’t undermine the base.

How do I know when my tank will be delivered?
Our logistics team gets in touch about 7 days before delivery to confirm your address, talk you through the access guidelines, and check whether you’ll be on site. We’ll also need a flat area of 5 metres by 5 metres to unload into, so make sure that’s clear and accessible. If you’d like a courtesy call closer to the day, just ask.
How many people do I need on site for the delivery?
None. Nobody is required to help the driver unload. What we do need is clear, easy access and a marked area for the tank to go. Our driver will unload as close to your preferred spot as they can. If they judge that spot too difficult to manoeuvre the truck into, they’ll find a safe alternative on your property.
One thing to note: the driver can’t physically position the tank onto the pad. Final positioning is the property owner’s responsibility.
What does Polymaster's tank delivery cost?
Polymaster tank delivery is free to site for tanks over 13,000L across Zone 1, remote areas excluded. For tanks under 13,000L, there’s a $165 inc GST charge to deliver to site. Delivery to your closest Polymaster distributor store is free for all rainwater tanks within Zone 1. Outside Zone 1, freight is additional, so contact us for a quote.
My site isn’t ready. Can you store the tank?
Yes, for a storage fee of $220 inc GST per tank per month. Normally, once a tank is made and fitted out to your specifications, it’s invoiced and shipped.
What are the unloading procedures for self-bunded tanks?
Self-bunded tanks from 1,500L to 10,000L are always despatched on a pallet, so they can be unloaded with a forklift or a crane with a spreader bar. Lift only from underneath the tank, unless there are purpose-built lifting lugs fitted. For anything larger, refer to the lifting plans.
How do I track a smaller item?
Smaller items ship with a freight company that doesn’t offer online tracking. Call our logistics team on 03 5033 9000 and select option 2, and we’ll chase it up for you.
Which areas in Victoria require oversize permits?
Two areas fall under National Heavy Vehicle Regulator restrictions: the Otway and mountainous areas, and the Melbourne and Geelong urban areas. In these regions we may need to transport larger tanks with escorts or pilot vehicles.
Which tanks are affected if a permit is required?
How do I know if my area needs a permit, and what does it cost?
If you’re in the Otway and mountainous areas, or the Melbourne and Geelong urban areas, our team will investigate on your behalf and get back to you. Allow one to two weeks. If a permit or pilot vehicle is needed, the cost is included in the quote your representative sends through.
What about chemical, diesel or DEF tank delivery?
Every industrial tank is different, so freight is worked out per project. Get in touch with our industrial team and we’ll sort out the details for your delivery.
What property access is required for delivery?
